Is this because there is just not much blooming right now or should I be worried?
Look around and see what's blooming and see if bees are working it. Also check the weight of the hive to see if it's too light which might indicate they will starve soon...
Checked the weight and it is heavy. I would guess each 10 frame deep weights 70 plus lbs. They only thing they seem to be working are the popcorn trees and my half acre of wildflowers. I also called a local bee keeper and they said that this was the dearth. By the end of next month things should pick back up so I am no so worried now.
...yeah, they went from working to bearding, bunch of bums!
Around my neck of the woods pokeberry(pokesalad), maybe some sourwood, iron weed, some wildflowers, and Chinese umbrella tree are blooming. In about 2 to 3 weeks the cotton and soybean will kick up. Mine are extremely busy first thing every morning. Once it gets hot they slow down a lot.
