I can't see for certain if those are bees.   They didn't show enough of the 'hive' to be certain.  Maybe wasps?  A lot of people use 'bees' as a default word for flying critters that sting.

But anyway,  they didn't 'attack', they defended their home the best way they knew how.

The couple of bees you could see didn't look like honey bees to me, or mine anyway.

And don't forget those "bees" don't sting. They bite. At least that's what I hear quite often.
