Title: Registering with DPI NSW
Post by: Miikeboyle on August 14, 2016, 08:23:39 PM
I do not yet have any bees but have built my hives and am on the swarm list with my local ABA so am hoping to get some bees soon with Spring/swarm season just around the corner. I plan on keeping 2 hives. Should I register with the DPI now and for number or hives say 0 or 2. Or just wait until I have the bees then register?

Not sure of your regulations there but I would see if they well let you pre registrete  at least 6 hives to take into account swarms and splitting. Once you start you will build fast.

Hi if you register now the Dept. will issue your brand, they will ask the number of hives and their location and the owner of the location.
I'm in Qld.

You don't have to register until you have bees.  It takes ten minutes online.
