Title: Dead skunks
Post by: beehappy1950 on August 20, 2016, 08:56:20 PM
I set a live catch trap in front of any hive I think has a skunk problem. I do use live catch traps and I only catch dead skunks. I know at night when I get one because of the smell. But before I get out there in the morning they are always dead. Anybody tell me why? I like them dead better than alive but just curious. Harold

Some caged wil fight till heatstroke kills them if hot enough at night. Others frighten to death.
I have used cages with blanket around them so they calm down after caught.

I set my trap in front of two hives so the bees have to fly thru the trap. Dont want to slow up them bees. Ha. But you might be right about the fright issue. I am from Minnesota, no heat stroke. I was just curious if anybody else had this happen.
