Title: Question about nector and pollen gathering
Post by: bwallace23350 on August 23, 2016, 02:40:45 PM
So I was watching my bees and I noticed they were working some plants hard but had no pollen balls on their back legs so does this mean they are gathering up nectar then?

Or someone put out some sugar syrup for them... or for the hummingbirds...

Well I was observing them on the flowers so they  must be getting nectar?

Bees usually gather nectar, water, propalis or pollen. When the field bees are in the hive, the nurse bees will bee begging for one of them and that is what they go for. Different house bees may be asking for different items so the field bees are trying to fill requests.
