Title: New Bee
Post by: Langers on December 11, 2016, 10:16:34 PM
Hi All, my name is langers and I live in Adelaide au, first time on this site and new to bees.
I have had a love affair with bees for years and finally I purchased a 5 drawn frame nuc 7 weeks ago, they are now in a 8 frame brood box and have not touched the three frames.
I am sure at the moment they are working on bee numbers mainly, should I just leave them or mix drawn frames with foundation.
I would appreciate any and all feed back, relating to new hive and starting out.

Thanks, Langers

Hello Langers,
Welcome to Beemaster.
To answer your question, it depends if you have a flow on and you have a good queen. In 7 weeks your hive should have doubled or more, if they have the food to do it, especially in the spring. If you can, find a local bee club and see if someone can come and look at your hive.
