I caught my first swarm of the season 2/18/2017 and that is the earliest I have ever caught a swarm in Central Arkansas.
A lot of my hives have 4 frames of capped brood and Drones walking around in them.
Some have Queen Cells already and I have noticed Queen Cell cups with larva and royal jelly in them.
It's on here in Central Arkansas already and it's about a month and a half early.
Yeah here in Alabama we are about 5 weeks ahead.
Wow,
Based upon the trees and plants that are flowering I've decided to get my bait hives set up.
Congratulations Capt.
I put out 5 swarm traps out last weekend figuring they are 2 weeks early but maybe not. I also put a swarm box in the back of my truck in case I get a call.

I haven't seen a swarm yet, but lots of things blooming and it got to 83 here today.

Im seeing more and more forage ferel bees around my house. I went for a walk the other day to try to find a hive close by but didnt find one. I have one swarm trap out so far. I need to bait and put out a few more at my house and a handful at my ranch this weekend. Hopefully ill catch a swarm soon. Its been pretty sunny and warm already. I thought they wouldnt be swarming just yet though.. i guess you never know
I don't think there's enough nectar flow around my neck of the woods for them to swarm. However, they usually never ask my opinion about anything..,
Sniper, try this.

Jim
