Hello all. My bees are tucked away in my bee shed and were doing well last I checked. I didn't have bees last winter due to yellow jackets so they don't recall when I took my bees out my first year with the shed. I understand that no two years are the same and that I should also instead be monitoring the weather. Below is a link to the weather forecast in my area. It has been unseasonably warm for Minnesota. So part of me thinks we are behind the worst and they should come out but it wouldn't be abnormal to get cold and snow in march and maybe April.
So if anybody here has experience or a resource let me know. Also would it be better to bring bees out to late or to soon? My line of thinking is that if I bring them out to soon they could perish. On the other hand I believe the queen starts laying according to sunlight and there is no light in my shed. So if I take them out to late they lose out on buildup and miss out on early pollen.

It would be an interesting experiment whether it is the light (as it is with laying chickens) or the gravitational pull of the sun that the bees keep seasonal time on. When it rains or snows they don't see the sun anymore than we do.
