Hello bee master forum,
In a month or so it will be my mothers 55th birthday I am looking at getting her something special. She has been keeping bee's now for longer than I can remember so I can say for sure it's her true passion. She always used to tell em when I was younger how important bees are to the world and massive benefits they have that the day to day person doesn't know. I learned to respect bee's, put it that way haha.
As I was looking online for a gift I came across this forum and where better to get help finding a present for my mother. After looking through sites like this https://www.easyprices.com/ all I keep coming across is the same items that she either wouldn't want or already has, I need to think a little more outside the box. When I last went to visit my mother I saw that her beekeeping suit had a few holes and was looking kinda rough around the edges if you know what I mean. This is what gave me the easy idea of buying her a new suit.
Now, I didn't quite get into beekeeping like my mother did so when it comes to purchasing anything for her it's just next to impossible, but not this time ;). For starters where should I begin to look for beekeeping suits? Is there a good store/site that you guys could recommend?
I am also wanting to get her something a little more special now the practical side is sorted but this is where I am really needing your guys help. Apart from the beekeeping suit, I am getting her, what would you guys love as a present on your birthdays being beekeepers?
Really looking forward to speaking with you guys and seeing what ideas you have. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

Go online and look at the vented ones. Get her a vented jacket. They also have all kinds of wax molds.

Gee I might have to do something about my dyslexia... I thought the subject title was "birthday suit for beekeeping gift"
(Not sure if it's a local thing but "birthday suit" is the outfit you were wearing when you were born and by teenagers going for late night swims"

Maybe she thinks like a teenager. Ha, ha, ha.
After the suit why not buy her a live queen that is a different breed than the ones she has? She will know what to do with it.

I was going to say the same thing... but thought I'd best keep out of trouble...;)! Not a good idea to beekeep in your birthday suit in any case...
Tjc,
It has been several years since I have seen it but there is a video on utube where a beekeeper at a nudest colony does a complete hive inspection in his birthday suit. Nothing else.

That nudist beekeeper is very brave! haha
I will have a look online now for some vented jackets.
Thanks
