Title: Jenter rearing system problems
Post by: Vicken on June 18, 2017, 05:24:19 AM
I just want to ask for the proper timing for confining the queen in the jenter box, is it in the morning or evening?
And when to take the plugs best timing for best results, and i need info in my case the brood rearing has decreased this month.
Thanks for all the participating beekeepers, and good day for all of you

24 hrs should be enough but if brood rearing in your hives has dropped the queen might not co-operate
When there is a nectar flow and the brood is expanding the queen lays in the cells with no problem

It doesn't matter.  Just remove her 24 hours later and transfer the larvae four days later.  If you confined her in the morning then plan on morning to release her if it is laid up.  If not, wait another day.

Four days after you confined her if the eggs have hatched.  If not, wait another day for them to hatch.
