well, I got another swarm call. I went and viewed it and am going over to get them in about a half hour. Will let everyone know how this one goes. They are on a wall over a door, in a nice cluster. Will report back later, JP
Look forward to hearing how it went. Please post photos if you got em. Careful it is an addiction.

Be very carefull. It is very addictive. I started with one and I had a high that lasted for about 3 days. I needed another fix and got 3 the next week. It was all I could think about. Where and when would the next call come? Would it be high in a tree or would it be low on a fence?
My wife had to show my some tough love. Now I gather my swarms under cover. Yes I am a closet swarm gatherer. I know I shouldn't but it makes me feel so alive.

How do you get known so people will call you? i would love to get a swarm. I have an old existing hive in a house i can get but as of yet, have not gotten their permission.
Well, I wish I could report good news but...I had a deep set up right under the cluster, sprayed them with sugar water, brushed them gently off the wall into the deep, but...Apparently the queen found a little place in between the outer wall and an awning to enter. I tried as I might to find her in the cluster but she wasn't there. I gently moved them with my fingers, looking for her, That's when I discovered that some of the bees were entering behind the very small opening in between the outer wall and the awning. I had a drawn frame from one of my hives in the deep that had some honey but they were just not interested in entering the deep without their queen.
You might try to put in a frame of brood from another hive if you have one. They typically won't leave a hive with brood and they could possibly make their own queen.
