We're having really nice weather here in the Smokies. The crocuses are about done, and all the daffodils are coming up. The only trees blooming are the ornamental pears.

Bloom? We are still getting snow! It has started to warm up though. We are getting days in the 30s with some warm sun. Not much for 40s yet. It?ll get here I?ll just go crazy before that happens.
Bush_84 the blooms will get to you soon. I saw elm and maple trees starting to bloom this weekend. Now all we need is good flying weather(maybe next week). Also the easter flowers are starting to bloom.

Here in Central Arkansas the Elm Trees were blooming mid February along with Cedar and Red Maple.
Here it is the last of March and Most of the Fruit Trees have bloomed and my Pears are blooming now.
We have small wild flower close to the ground in bloom.
The Oak Trees are in full bloom right now.
The bees are bringing in a lot of pollen now and the hives are exploding with bees.
Now if the rains will let up some it would be great.
The flowers make pollen then it rains and washes it off.
It takes 2-3 days for the flowers to build up enough pollen for the bees to gather.
It rains and washes it off again.
Out of a 7 day week the bees get to gather pollen maybe 2-3 days a week.
Watch their food stores this time of year.
Win ter has been long enough, although not too harsh. I would be happy to see a dandelion right now.

Here it is April 7th, 2018 here in Central Arkansas.
Most of the Fruit Trees have bloomed.
Apples and Pears are blooming and wild flowers are showing up especially the small ones close to the ground.
Clover is about 4 inches tall and will be blooming in a week or so. (Crimson Clover)
Paw Paw Trees will bloom in another week along with Pine.
Oak Trees are in full bloom right now and everything is covered with pollen.
Now the kicker is we had a cold front come in and it's 34 degrees F and we have a little sleet.
But it's going to warm up in the 80's in a couple of days.
Still snow in Michigan but today was the first day in the 60's so it has all melted. But, guess what? rain snow and sleet for the weekend. Michigan Spring baby!
On May 2nd here in Arkansas, the blackberries are in bloom and the elderberries should be blooming soon. There are wild flower and cover blossoms everywhere.
Gall berries are in full bloom. I cannot see the bees on the flowers but there is a constant buzz in the woods.

Black Gum is in full bloom. You can here the bees working these trees from 50 feet away.

Palmetto is coming into bloom also. Due to the controlled burn, every palmetto tree has blooms.

The snow just left within the last two weeks, we had 65,70,76 for highs then back to 40's no dandelions yet but the red maple, basswood, some dogwoods and willows are all starting to bloom.Two of my four hives made it thru our UP winter and are bringing pollen back to the hives, last year's queens just started laying eggs like mad.
This isn't really a bloom, so I'm not sure if this counts, but my bees are having a pollen party with the oak catkins and pine pollen right now. :cheesy: Actually my pollen allergies are having a party too. :sad:

Popcorn tree (TallowTree) is in bloom right now. It started 5/19/2018.
It seems like our flow will be ending early this year. The holly is long over, berries are already growing, not sure but I suspect the palmetto is done, only the Tallow is left.
We normally have flows until the end of June.
Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

The bees are working chestnut trees and magnolia here.
My bees are working Magnolia here too.
My girls are on the clover now, as well as the squash flowers in my mom's garden. The sourwood trees are about to bloom!
The sourwood seems to have been a bust this year. :sad: Not sure why, as a newbee I have no other years to seriously compare it with, but the trees just didn't bloom like they normally seem to, and the bees weren't interested in the flowers at all. Maybe too much rain?

Golden rod in bloom in NE Texas but bees are not working it, it as though they wait until October to work it. Very disappointing
