yesterday i was observing a hive and i notice a larve being removed. I have'nt seen any more being removed. what is happening.
Could've been dead, diseased... As long as you only see the occassional one being disposed of it is probably fine.
What stage? The development stage of the brood being tossed, as well as quanity and/or frequency, can tell you a lot about the health of your hive.
If it is very sporadic and in small numbers it's probably nothing to worry about as bees have miscarriages also.
If there's a noticable amount of brood tossed from the hive it's time to investigate and check for all brood diseases like sacbrood, chill brood, chalkbrood, AFB, & EFB.
