Newly mated store bought queen from reputable supplier has some cells with two eggs. One is in center and one on edge.
Can this be somewhat typical for a new queen?
I have seen 2 eggs per cell from excellent production queens. I viewed with a stereo microscope otherwise I would have never noticed. If you are viewing a lot of doubles then I might be concerned.
It is normal for a new queen to lay toe or three eggs in a cell when she starts laying. She should settle down and start putting only one egg per cell in a week or two. I would give her at least another 10 days to prove her self before you do another inspection.

Yes. The fact that there is one in the center is the positive that you want to see.
