I'm sorry if I've created not relevant topic.. I need your advice.
can you give any info on hive located under ground? recently one was disturbed at our neighbors yard, now, there is a new hive in our yard...or maybe it was always there...not sure what to do. can it or should it be removed? what kind of bees live underground?
Are they Honeybees? They may be Yellow Jackets. Bumblebees will also nest in the ground if the conditions are favorable.
Beestamble,

There's a red wasp that nests in the ground and reportedly preys on cicadas.
The cicada killers around here I would describe as yellow, black. No red. They are HUGE. No mistaking them for anything else. There are several varieties that are different colors.

Around here I mostly find them in the dirt in gaps in stone retaining walls and in the ground under cedar trees.
