first off sorry this is in the wrong location.
I always thought it was a pretty sure bet if you had queen cells
with larva on the bottom of the frame that bees would be swarming.
I checked my bees today and it seems like the cells I saw are gone.
Any thoughts on this?
They may have swarmed and you did not know it happened. Was there a lot of bearding on this hive and not now? When my observation hive is ready to swarm they will beard real heavy and stay out side of the hive. Most of the time the bees look the same after they swarm with the exception of the beard.

Bees can use larva from different area on the frame to make either swarm cells or supersedure cells. I have
experienced both way when they make these QCs. To be sure you really have to look at the bee environment and how the
hive is doing at specific month of the year. Our swarm season is already over and about to enter the yearly summer dearth.
Can't really see any difference in the number of bees and I know for a fact that I saw a queen cell that looked almost big enough to be capped.
By the way thanks to buzzbee for moving this to the right area. Could not figure out how to delete it from the other area. LOL.
