Title: Nucs sources
Post by: bwallace23350 on February 02, 2019, 09:35:21 AM
I ran into my source for Nucs right before Christmas and he said he might not have all of them because of losses. Should I be concerned about buying from the guy? He is the biggest local beekeeper around. Several hundred hives I believe.

Check Craig's List closer to spring.
A lot of smaller keeps do a few nucs too.
I'll probably do 20 and sell 5 for example.

It sounds as though the nuc supplier is an experienced beekeeper that knows not to count his colonies until at least the first of March.

BW,
If he does have any nucs, they will probably be his best survives. Keep in touch.
