I?m not in that area but I found 3 uncapped queen cells today. I did 3 way Altmiller Splits to most of the hives that are on the trailer in town. I also saw a lot of drones, not only drone larvae but lots of adult drones.

I am just north of new Orleans. Only checked a few hives because fractured arm. No queen cells but there was some capped drone brood. I am planning on a few splits to get some queen banks going. In a few weeks I will split several. Getting ready for swarm season at this time. I start catching swarms early March.
