Hi All,
It's been a long time since I called in, How are things going in the US.
The beekeeping season has started slowly for me, some of you may remember I had some dead outs in the winter, that, plus ten new hives to fill has meant a weakening of my stocks. It is pouring with rain today and has been for almost a week, the Cannola flower is passing, while the bees are tucked up in bed! Ho - Hum such is life!
Do let me know how things are going with you
Happy beekeeping !
HI Rusty,
Im in the northeast of the US, and we are getting a slow start as well. We just received 10 inches of rain in a few days, but now things are starting to get back to normal.
I've noticed that some of my new hives are staring to put some nectar in the tops of frames and brood rearing is going pretty well.
Amy
Nice to meet you Rusty.
I live in south west Virginia near Roanoke. The season has been good. We missed a huge storm system that moved to the north of us into the NE and flooded a number of new england states.
We came out of a pretty mild winter. April has been chilly and its been raining off and on. There has been plenty of sunshine in between so it seems the nectar flow is coming in strong this year. Sorry about the deadouts.
God bless!
