Title: Groundsel
Post by: paus on April 07, 2019, 05:54:55 PM
Groundsel or "Butter Weed" as sometimes known, is really blooming in pastures around here.  I have never seen it until a few years ago.  Our county agent told me what it is and he also informed me that it was started in our pastures from imported cattle feed.  Now, my question, does any BEEK know anything about how the bees use this yellow flower.  Bees are really working it and do they make honey.  Many of our pastures are almost solid yellow.

Paus, I can?t answer your question.  However I was impressed by the  almost SOLID YELLOW PASTURES.  That must be a cool sight to uphold.

9 times out of 10 if it is a weed the bees love it.  Gardeners like bees because they help plants flourish.  One of those plants are weeds so you better like weeding if you are a gardener with bees.
