Title: Seed starter for creamed honey?
Post by: Aroc on August 23, 2019, 11:51:06 AM
We made  creamed honey last year but neglected to keep any for starter this year. Received a 1 pound package of the dry seed starter but there were no instructions. Can someone just put this whole package into a 5 gallon bucket?

Any experience with this?

Yes you can.  You can also take any crystallized honey and run it through a flour grinder and grind it really fine.

Go to the supermarket, buy assorted creamed honey, find one you like and use it as a starter.

500gm of starter per 5kg honey,

That?s actually what we did last year to get us started but for some reason didn?t save any for this year.  We ended up with this 1lb bag of seed starter.  Found out that it?s enough to do 100lbs of honey.
