Pic taken today, Saturday.
For those who have followed my post the past four years with my raving about my outstanding queen, OK, the pic above. Don?t have much to brag about in my old age, don?t get around like I used to; but I do boast about my Cordovan Queen named Alpha to anyone who will listen. Yep, very proud of this lil gal!!!
I did not know if Alpha would make it thur last winter as 4 years is getting old for an insect. But as you can see, she did, she is a beauty. Her laying has slowed tremendously, but she is still laying. I was concerned about supersedure so I gave a frame of capped brood to boost Alpha?s hive.
Thanks for letting an old feller boast about his favorite queen bee named Alpha.
Blessings
Van
I grafted larva from Alpha this day so her genetics continue.
ID, and beeks, if you remember last September, I spoke of a queen that I raised in August that hatched, mated, was laying in 4,four, days,,,, well, that was Alpha daughter, 4th generation. ID stated this was new record, 4 days. Previous was five days...
Alpha produces some amazing queens.
