Title: Fire hydrant swarm!

Buddy mine works at a power plant. He got permission for me to come in and catch this swarm. This was my first swarm. So I took a nuc box I kept from last year. I was using it for a swarm trap. Had some old comb in it. I also put a frame of honey in it. Set on the ground next to them and in 15 seconds the march was on. Just like in the videos. Started looking for Queens. Only one in this one. I was able to catch her in a clip. Put her in the box and used a little smoke and got rest in. Maybe a handful still around but I didn?t want to leave the box overnight. All went well.

Kinda weird place for a swarm, but it works.  What more could a fella ask for, Nock?  Clean parking lot, no brush, no limbs, no tree to climb, no obstacles at all !!!  Easy Pickens, count your blessings.

Just like an old pro. Glad you caught the queen. As Van said a perfect place to catch a swarm. It is fun isn't it. Hope you catch another swarm soon!

He got me put down as first to call. Said they normally get one or two a year there.
