We sold are first nuc. Made a plan to sell 5 and so far sold one couple days ago to a new beekeeper. She seemed super excited. Well we saw our nuc for sale on Facebook in our box and label with all her equipment. Not sure how I feel about this. Little upset But I?m sure it happens. Has anybody have this happen. G

That is curious. So the lady turned around and resold it? Maybe she realized beekeeping was not for her after all? I bet it was strange seeing a nuc that you had produced for sale in an ad. Did you sell it in wood or one of those new temporary type set up boxes?
Temp box. It still had my sticker on. It was a healthy nuc on newer frames to it almost hurts a little. But guess it goes with the Territory.
I bet it did hurt a little. You was probably selling it with pride in helping another persons introduction into beekeeping which left you pleased. Try not to take it hard. Like I said earlier, maybe she simply decided beekeeping just was not for her?
Perhaps your sticker and Facebook exposure will increase your sales.

We can only hope, but now she is selling something with our name on it, but I don?t know what has happened to the nuc since it left the apiary, they had feed and we are starting a flow in our area, and it was a healthy hive, but as I got some great advice on the phone from Barhopper, reached out and called him and was grateful for the mentoring, as long as I got the price I need for my bees I can?t help what some one else does with them.
I've been selling a few nucs for the few years. I am selling them for 25-30 dollars less then others around here. Someone could easily do that here also. I also sell my honey a little cheaper than most that I have seen. I look at it this way: I got a fair price for what I sold. What they do with it after they buy it from me isn't my concern. If they want to try to make money on it , so be it.
Glad I could help.
My first response to seeing the title was congratulations.
But I can see the problem if the resold nuc with your name on it does not work out for someone.
Did you consider confronting her?
Plus, many lawyers offer a first consult free. It would be good to know what your rights might be in this circumstance.
First response to seeing the title was congratulations. Maybe she can be your distributor? Actually, many people sell products on facebook.

Well it will work out, I have thought on this, and it will happen. I believe she got in over her head. We didn?t confront her. Just will move on and work bees.
Ive never sold bees, always locked in on honey, pollen and equipment. But I raise all my nucs for my use in Jester bee boxes some have to be 20 yrs old. Just because Jester Bee is on them. does that make them liable if I sell one per state law?
Did she list it for more or less then what you sold it to her?

She put them up for the same I sold them
Maybe she got stung and had a bad reaction or decided she didn't want to get stung anymore!

I think so.
I suppose for a person who has never handled bees, it is just (human nature or instinct) to be a little apprehensive, not being use to the multitude of flying buzzing bees, especially if that person is stung. This may do it for many. "I changed my mind about bees" lol 😊 "Or bees may not be for me after all."
