Do bees recognize marked queen as injured and try to supercedure her asap? I just got this opinion from very experienced beekeeper.
My marked AND clipped buckfast queen is big, fat, happy, and an egglaying machine. Yay for anecdotal evidence! My bucky hive is definately a little more "aggressive" than my carniolan.
My main breeder queen right now is three years old, marked and clipped.
Thank you for the replies. I asked that question in connection with my other topic "Great disappointment". This is what Frank Lagrant wrote to me in response to my e-mail: that because I requested marked queens, he did so but bees killed the queens because of that, and that's why I didn't have queen in one , and in other two they raised new virgins???
