Title: A bearding observation
Post by: Lesgold on December 18, 2021, 05:56:59 AM
Hi Folks,

Just went down to check the bees after a really warm day. (About 37 degrees) The girls were out sun baking and trying to keep cool.

All of the hives in this pic have solid bottom boards. The hive on the far left has a super that?s basically empty so there was a bit more space in it and the bees were a little more relaxed. 5 of my hives have Bluebees bottom boards. The extra ventilation kept them quite cool. All of those hives looked like this one

Just an interesting real life observation. Would have lifted the lid slightly on each hive but a storm is coming in soon and the temp should drop quickly.

Cheers
