My answer is the same as The15thMembers' "Beemaster Class of 2018! :grin: As she; I actually joined Beemaster in 2017, reading and learning as much as possible before getting my first bees in the spring of 2018."
She and I started about the same time. I actually began beekeeping in April 2018 with my first cutout...
My idea for this topic came from a spinoff from a reply by Jim 134. If I'm not mistaken he once told us he has been beekeeping since the 1950's. If I'm mistaken Jim 134 please correct me.. G3farms has been at it for a while as well! Impressive.
No doubt we have members with varying years of beekeeping experience .... I would love to hear from more...

Seriously though, I remember you saying you come from a multigenerational beekeeping family. Are you counting your family's collective knowledge as your own? If so, that number is perfectly valid in my book. :happy:
I inherited two hives along with a lot of equipment after my dad died in 1991. Been a bee keeper ever since.
I started keeping in 1957... Up till 3 years ago.. I had my own hives.. Now I help out another beekeeper near where I live.. In Las Pinas ,Philippines.. Yes he only has Asian bees... The Asian honey bee (AHB), Apis Cerana, is found throughout the tropical, sub-tropical and temperate zones of south-east and mainland Asia. This wide distribution has led to variations, commonly known as genotypes or strains, particularly between the temperate and tropical AHB...

About 2005 when the commercial Wisconsin beekeeper across the road from me decided he wasn't coming back to Fl anymore and I could do what I wanted with the few hives he left.

Same here, Bob; 2019 for me and bees as well. Although, my wife says I've been a "keeper" since she met me in '02. :tongue:
