Title: Upper entrance
Post by: yes2matt on June 04, 2022, 09:35:44 PM
I didn't give them the upper entrance they ordered so they bored one through the lid.

The bees really like the polystyrene. I like my choice of lid material but would glue/staple some fiberglass window screen to the bee side next time.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220605/d41671303669efc52421a2efc2c7b606.jpg)

I have a couple hives that the wood was thin near the frame rest.  The bees decided the would make another entrance there.

Yeah, I make vertical slots in my wood boxes to accept a division board and if they have the handle cut too deep there will be a hole at the intersection;  the bees make it round and smooth.  I have to screen it to move them or I'll get popped in the finger.

If the bees make it they use it, if I make it for them, they close it up.
