lol, In some situations I agree with Mike R, but not this time. Lets see Mike Rowe do the exact same without a safety harness attached!!
:cheesy:
Safety is the Process of Natural Selection trying to do it's job.
Being safe impedes progress, decreases the amount of fun, and slows natural selection. Therefore, safety is bad.

"Safety is the Process of Natural Selection trying to do it's job."
"animal"
"and slows natural selection"
Ain't that the truth, especially in a situation as show in the short clip...
I worked in construction for a number of years. The boss would usually give me the most dangerous jobs, I think, because he knew I would find a way to make them as safe as possible. But if Safety was job one, I wouldn't have done any of them.
I suppose there are all sorts of examples of safety and not being safe. My cousin built high rise building and regularly walked 8" beams hundreds of feet from the ground without a harness. But I wouldn't do that for 'any amount' of money! lol :cheesy:
Nor would I for one, ride the platform steading a couch, was it 20 plus stories, as in the short clip featured in the OP; 'with or without' a safety harness. lol
Phillip
3 stories will kill you. What difference does it make if it's 20? Well, maybe the cherry picker might be more likely to tip or lurch or something...
lurch.. yep and wind kicking up without warning.
Or maybe the operator may 'accidentally' touch the wrong lever no matter his or her years of experience, or a strong gust of wind may swoop as often happens between building or maybe..... so forth and so on....
One story can kill you lol; Regardless, as I said earlier. Not for me personally, with or without a safety harness.. But feel free to be my guest! lol PS make a video of it!!
J/K 'Please' Mr Bush "don't do it" Im just kidding with you. I think much too "highly" of you!!
 :cheesy:

Thank you!!

I think I would have opted for a piece of rope around the couch and riding the elevator up while the boom operator got it to the window ... but hey they got it done

Hey! That's thinking outside of the box and using the old noggin!! Thumbs Up!!
Phillip
Did any of you ever see the old Laurel and Hardy movie where they was moving a piano to a high level room on the outside of a building, while using a rope? lol
Those two were a trip!!
Phillip
nah, it's being old and not having enough beer
I was thinking of posting it here, but I can not find 'the one' I was looking for..
not sure .. I think I remember one with a piano and stairs .. but maybe the stooges

Yes, maybe it's the stooges I am thinking about.. They were a trip too!

Hi Folks,
I have a single-story home, 40 feet wide, with a seven pitch roof. I'm olde.
Every now and then I have to get up to the peak, about 24 feet if I remember, and then an eight-foot-high chase. Has gotten scarier over the years
My wife made me get an OSHA approved harness. PITA, but it's not the fall that kills you.
It's the sudden stop!
She said if I fall, don't go running to her.

Sal, she knows you 'probably' wouldn't be able too!
