Many of us here may have read his books and articles... He was The editor for Bee Culture Monthly magazine ..For many years.
RIP... I know I have seen him in New England.. At bee meetings maybe 8 to 10 times over the years.. Kim. Also has been on many beekeeping podcast..

Oh, how sad. Kim Flottum was a giant in the beekeeping community. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on and continue to educate and inspire beekeepers for many years to come.
I have a little different opinion of him but thanks for letting us know. When he stuck to bees, he was very good.
He will be missed. I didn't always agree with him on bees... but he at least gave alternative and treatment free some consideration.
He was in a very enviable position of being the person who received all the letters and articles submissions of anyone anywhere who wanted to share in Bee Culture. We got to see only the best; he got to see all of it.
Based on my one or two interactions with him, he got that position by being kind and by being a careful listener. And by using storytelling to thread the middle between divergent opinions. Wise man.
