Title: Any jewelry experts here?
Post by: BeeMaster2 on August 07, 2024, 05:37:46 PM
Judy?s center diamond and setting fell out several weeks ago and we couldn?t find it. We found a jeweler in Lake City to purchase and build a new setting. Judy just picked it up today and thinks the setting prongs are not balanced and don?t look right. Is anyone an expert? Shouldn?t the prongs look even and balanced? Below are pictures of it.

I can agree that they don?t all look the same but I am no jewler or expert on the matter.

Beautiful ring!  I'm not an expert, but I kind of agree about the prongs.  They don't look like they are squared nicely with the band.  It's not horrible, but it could be more pleasing to the eye.

I just talked to the jeweler who did the work. He was aware of the way it turned out but the way the stone is and the setting, that was what it took to secure the diamond.
