Has anybody requeened with this hybrid? If so what are your thoughts?
Are you sure you don't mean Starlite? Starlites were a popular hybrid back in the late 60's but their popularity died out as they didn't live up to their hype. Some people called the Starbrites. They tended towards a darker coloring if I recall correctly?
The All stars and All americans are more or less the same line of bee's that Weaver Family has, I have not had them but there are a few on here that might have....
They are not really hybrids. Just a line of Italians that the Weavers have bred. I had some 30 years ago and they were high quality queens. I can't say what they are like now.
As Mr. Bush stated, the All-stars are an improved Italian strain. I had two All-star queens and both did very well. They both had a very quick build-up and were very gentle. The only problem I had was that they both kept a large winter population so I had to make sure they had enough honey stored for winter.
