Title: Bees wanted to go home
Post by: limyw on July 16, 2006, 10:14:31 PM
When I transfered some bees together with frame to weak hive that need more population, these bees tend to return to thier original hive after a while. New transfered frame was partitioned with newspapar to avoid fighting. I did tried to block one bee entrance but it did not help bees to leave. Any better solution?

Is it possible to move them 3 miles down the road or further after putting the frame in your weak hive?  They tend to stay when they can't find their original home.

Give a frame or two of emerging bees to weak hive. Shake all "loose" bees to their hive.

I'm with Finsky on this one.
