Title: Hive Behavior
Post by: pgwilms on July 22, 2006, 07:51:42 PM
I am new to beekeeping and have two hives.  The otherday I noticed the bees lining up three and four deep along the edge of the hive, about 12 inches in length.  Any idea what is going on and if I should be doing anything??

Were they on the bottom board or the front side of the hive body?  It they were on the bottom board they were probably fanning (circulating air through the hive), it they were on the front side of the hive body they were probably washboarding.  A dance that resembles the wave people do in sports stadiums.
