I have a super that is only partially capped, about 65% of all the frames are capped the rest have nectar. I'm pretty sure the flows over except for a large soybean field next door that's just flowering (40+ acres). Should I harvest or wait? Will the soybeans yield enough to be worth waiting? Should I just harvest the super with the autumn flow hoping we have one. Any opinions?
The higher the water content (nectar) in the honey the quicker it will ferment. I'd wait until the super had a higher percentage of capped honey frames before harvesting. Its not even August yet and there is still plenty of time for more harvesting.
In my area we still have at least 2 more, albeit weaker, honey flows to go. So adding another super may even be possible.
