The most expensive honey in the world?

The most expensive honey in the world is claimed to be Sidr Honey -- at $200 per kilo. You can even  buy it online.

It comes from the Hadramaut Mountains in the Southwestern Arabian Peninsula, where it is harvested only twice per year. The honey is from bees who feast only on the pollen of the Sidr tree, considered by many to be a holy tree and is one of the most resilient, ancient tree varieties in the area. I know this but this is a holy bloom for some!!!!!! thats what they pay for and I would love to try some just to see what it taste like........, I still favor clover honey......

I have any hives at seaside, near the cape of Trafalgar (the place that gave the name to the famous naval battlefield where Nelson died). Here I harvest Lavandula stoechas.
Other hives are located in the marsh (marisma), here I harvest citrus and thymus (in the mountain near the river).
And other group of hives are in the open field (campiña) where I harvest Hedysarum coronarium -sulla- in spring and eucalyptus in july.
I have a friend beekeeper in the coast of Malaga where the avocado is abundant and another in the sierra where chestnut -Castanea sativa- and Arbutus unedo are silvester, and we change (barter) our honeys.

Why blackberry? I have an acer of blackberries so next year I should get a lot of blackberry honey, is it light or dark?

Good blackberry honey is almost as clear as fireweed.  Pure fireweed honey is pure white, like looking through glass, but it is very hard to find enough to get it that way.  Blackberry, on the other hand, is abundant and mild in flavor (for those of you who still possess a sense of taste--I don't) and very light amber.

That can't be the most expensive honey in the world.
I produce the most expensive honey in the world!  I've kept track of everything I've bought over the last 3 or 4 years.   If I broke it down to cost per pound, I'd probably cry  :cry: but I love it anyway!

Thus far, my favorite has been squash flower.  It was rich and buttery.    Blueberry is a close second.  I'd like to try sumac and heather, so if anyone produces any, I'd gladly buy some.  That sidr honey sounds exquisite, too. Hmmmm,  a 5 gallon batch of mead would cost more than $4G!!!!  Oh well, I guess that will have to wait until after I hit the Powerball. :cry:
