Title: Russian bees with white backs

good morning,

this morning I noticed returning bees from the Russian hives had white backs.  are these old bees or is it just polen.   :?:

If you have Himalayan balsam plants there it colors bees' back white

In the spring I usually have alot of bees "marked" white by jackaranda pollen.
