Title: requeen or combine?
Post by: pdmattox on July 24, 2006, 11:20:41 PM
I have a couple of hives that are queenless and was wondering if i should just combine those hives with a stronger hive or try to requeen.  Dont know if it maters that i just treated all the hives or not but i thought i would include that info.

If you get yield there, it is wise to combine.  You get bees to forage.

How is  Florida now from the view of bees  - or honey farmer?

Florida is not bad. South Florida still gets daily rain over the summer. However I still see bees bringing in lots of pollen and I need to pull another 10 frames from hive 2 for honey. This is the third time I have done this over the summer from this hive.

Sincerely,
