An unoccupied brood box has sat in the beeyard all year. The comb and foundation it contained are eaten up by moths.
Some frames are the all plastic kind that I think has wax coating? Would these frames be recyclable? Can I assume that moths ate what wax coating might have been there?
Most of the wax coating probably gone depending on the severity of the wax moth, but yes you can reuse them just fine. It just reverted to being a frame of foundation. One of the beuaties that comes from hard plastic foundations. Unless it was duragilt, then without the wax coating there is a very very very small chance that the bees will draw good comb on it again.
If you think the wax moth might have eaten away the wax coating on plastic based foundation it has been reported to be recyclible via coating the plastic with a coating or 2 of wax.

I take it the frames you are talking about are Dadant M58705 EZ FRAME COATED 9 1/8 WHITE EACH

I am presently starting back to beekeeping. I was stuck in an apartment in greater Seattle untill I retired in February. I have retrieved my equipment from my friend who was keeping bees untill he had health problems.
All is still usable except the frames. The moth got most of them. I am going to start three hives in the spring, so I am getting all of my stuff in order. I am thinking about going to the Dadant EZ Frame listed above. Are there any problems with going completely to the EZ Frame?

Is the wax coating on the plastic frame best applied by brush or dipping? If I go to all plastic frames, at sometime I will have to recycle some of the frames.
Brush on, peel off.
I distain plastic frames. Being old fashioned I prefer wood.
