I have a friend who has a nest of bees that mad there home in a cooler on his property and he wants me to get rid of them or hes gonna kill them and ive been thinking about starting my own hives which i have a few just waiting for bees and i know how to get to the bees into the new hive bodie from other forums on this site but what i want to know is if the the honey combs would be ok to eat seeing as im a begginer i dont know really anything about keeping bees or collecting wild honey though ive been readin about it but i cant find anyything to tell me if all the comb is edible or not cause i know there drone and brood cells and egg cells can anyone help me out?
The honey and the comb from a wild hive should be delicious.
well thats good to know im guessing there should be alot to seeing as its been there for 4 years but does anyone know where the larva and eggs would be so i dont eat them or kill them?
Capped Honey will have a glassy or icy look to it. capped brood will usually appear as brown. You should have no trouble telling the difference once you have a look.
k thank you for the advice ill put up a post when i collect the honey ill probably need more help with something
