Let's hope that they've discovered a source of disease resistant stock from which to develop queens for all of us.
Perhaps it is like a lot of the feral colony hive cavities---active with bees for a few years then they are wiped out by mites.A swarm finds it and it is occupied again. This repeats itself over and over,the owner thinks it has been occupied the entire time,but it has not.
