Title: Medium nuc box
Post by: buzzbee on August 24, 2006, 08:32:33 PM
Does any one manufacture a nuc box with medium frames. Mine has deep frames and makes it harder to transfer to a medium box. Just trying to plan for next year. Thanks in advance!

I have made nuc box from styrofoam boxes,  medium and langstroth sizes. They are really handy.

It is easy. I sawed with circle saw styrofoam box into two or three pieces. Then I made missing wall from styrofoam construction board. It is easy to clue it with polyuretane clue. It attach to palstick and water hardens it.

Both boxes are very light to handle. I like more langstroth size.  3 frame medium nuc is too small but it works. You may put one on top of another  and you have bigger nuc and more space for bees and queen.

So make them unit size so they fit together.
