Simple recipe: take sugar and wash over with propolis. Dry up aftercooler, and product is finished.

Ha, now that is a picture that brings a smile to one's face. Ya, keep up the smile!!! It looks good on people for sure. Great day. Cindi
Thanks Gang :)
Sometimes in life you need to share stuff and that modest photo (you can tell how camera shy I am) was a gift worth sharing - lol. I was just trying out my cam-corders still pic mod with the remote control and caught that gem. Couldn't waste it on myself, I'm 48 and it might be the best I'll ever look again - ugh.

Ha, ha, life is for laughing and laughing we all shall. Just wait until I send the pictures of the swollen faces of my husband and myself after encounters with our bees this summer. You will all get a kick out of it. I will try and get these on the forum tomorrow. Please, laugh, there is a "laughing club" that I was seeing on the TV that an actual doctor created and all they do is "laugh". Let's do that thing, they say that that is the best thing that anyone could ever do for themselves and others. Laugh, lafff, and laph some more. Great day. Cindi
Gotta agree with John, looking at member's photos, it is kind of nice to put a type to a face. Here is a pic of me taking pics of my bees. I do alot of videotaping around here, as well as still. One day, I will get going and put all my 8mm onto DVD, I have the equipment, just not the time. Great day. Cindi

Nice photo, obviously in trials of some sort. Usually individuals who enjoy biking, also are engaged in other "triathalon" events. Do you get into that too? Great day. Cindi
hi cindi
not much for the tri stuff -- i just can't keep up with running and swimming-- i just love the speed of the road bike and the trail riding
biking is just so much fun
take care
dave
Dave, when I was a kid, my bike was the best thing in the world that a youngster could ever have. It took me to so many places. I still love to bike ride (but now onto bigger, motorized bikes, LOL). I still love to get on my bike and ride with my grandsons and nephews to some cool swimming holes in the summer. I don't swim, it's too cold for me, but I watch the kids, they have no fear. We have lots and lots of bike/horse trails in our vicinity, the horse capital of B.C., so they say, so the horseman's club has done wonders all over the lower parts of the mountains. So, we ride the trails.
Have an awesome day, and keep riding, good for your health and heart. Cindi
Here is a photo of my husband and I, he's registered here on Beemaster but I don't know what his screen name is! :? I'll figure it out and post it.

You just had one to many "/" in the address for photo and avitar too, computers are soooo picky :) - good job!!! Beemaster
Ann, what a nice picture, I see that your husband towers above you too, I share the same thing. I bet you are about 5 foot 2 inches, and he certainly well over 6 feet. Great day. I'll put a picture of me and mine on one day too. We are past our 25th year together, and getting better every day. Great day. Cindi
Actually I'm 5'6", he's 6'4" - he's a big boy! :) We've been married now for almost four years, he's my match.com guy and we're so lucky to have found each other! He's the one who initiated our adventure into beekeeping, he used to visit an uncle who kept bees and always wanted to do it himself. So here we are! 8-)

Interesting wedding stuff man.

Yes, I was married on Halloween.

thanks.
I think Understudy is just a hard core beast! :-D
I actualy used to stuff like that Understudy but I got in touch with my Rude boy self with some "regea" influence.
Oooh, I like the wedding shot. That was very impressive. Both your hair look like they are a match. I can see why you put it up when you go out with the bees. that would be a perfect place to get stuck and buzzing. That is a wicked sound, that buzzing in hair. Eeks!!!
I am starting the Bee Masters Short Course on Monday, gonna be a long haul. Gonna have a tough time sitting in classroom for 5 days. Eeeks!!! I am trying to psyche myself up for it. Gonna take lots of snacks I can stick in my purse to keep myself busy. Awesome day. Bring on the pictures, they are great!!! Awesome day. Cindi

Hello again. I've recently been transformed. Can you tell by the photo below:
I'm no longer just a "beekeeper's helper" - I'm now a beekeeper with my own hive! For the past year or so, I've been the one doing the heavy lifting, putting the hardware together, snapping photos, asking for help, etc., but about a month ago I got my own hive. They seem to be doing well, but they got a late start this year.

David, yeah!!! Good for you, I hope that all goes well, you have been working hands on and studying, all should go great. Have a wonderful day, great life. Cindi

Why did the photo come out so small???
Hi Annette!
Those are working great. They are what is called "thumbnails". Click them to open a new window and view full size image (this saves bandwidth).
Good job!
I understand how the thumbnails work, but when you click on the thumbnail, the photo doesn't open up very large. How do you post your photos to open up nice and large??? I may want to show the bees someday and it would need to be really big to see any problems on the frames.
Annette
Oh, sorry - lol, I was actually thinking of amending my post with a bit about the actual, full-size image sizing as well. You're right, 320x240 is rather small.
Test image I tried (shot of blackberry & purple loosestrife pollen) on this post wasn't resized by ImageShack, so I am guessing your original image is small. Check your digicam's settings for image resolution and increase it (800x600 is a good general setting, do larger for more detail).

Hi Annette,
That looks like how I know N.Cali.
Dry! QuoteI am wondering though how you all post photos that do not need to click on a thumbnail???
That would be
cheating!!
All one has to do to post any image is place that image's url within "image tags", like so:
[img]http://your image url[img]
tags. That being said, I think thumbnails are the appropriately netiquette way. 8-)
OK
I will be a good girl and do the right thing. Dane did you get to see the additional photos I added??
Yes, it is so dry around here just like a desert. About this time of year, I can't wait for the rain to come. I don't know how the bees do it, but they are bringing in nectar, slowly, but they are finding it.
Annette

Eileen, welcome to our forum. You can't post pictures yet, you have to have a certain number before you are allowed. This is a security measure so we don't have bad stuff coming into the forum. They have to know you just a tiny, teeeny, bit first. You can post the picture to one of the moderators and they can upload it to our forum so we can have a look. We would love to see your bees. Thanks Cindi, my wife and I are still discussing the colors for the new hives in the shop right now. We have four packages coming in April.
David
Is it an illusion or do you have extra space under those top covers?
.....JP
I modeled those covers after the garden top type. They do in fact have extra space in the top, and pure copper sheathing. If I can, I will show pictures of how they are assembled. One thing, they won't blow off in the wind unless its a tornado, and in Missouri that's possible. :-D
Wanna watch the extra space if the bees can get up into it, cause they will build comb there, unless I'm missing something. BTW, I think the hives are cool.

That's a nice looking finish on your hives, what is it? I bet not many folks use that picnic table behind your hives for picnics, but it probably makes a handy place to set your tools and stuff during inspections?

I stained them with a cedar deck stain from Behr, I gave them 2 coats and that darkened them up, but I stained some honey supers w/1 coat and their much lighter.
(LOL....Yeah that would be no picnic for sure!)
When I 1st got my bees I put the picnic table out in front off to the left of the hives and would sit and watch them.
Well.......they got a little aggressive when they got stronger and they let me know in "stinging terms" I was not welcome their anymore!
The picnic table makes for a great work bench! I set the supers on the table and my tools and stuff on the seat....it's perfect.
I don't stand on it, but I can stand on the 4x4's and plywood between the hives.
Tell you what 2-wheeler your one brave beek up on that ladder i look at the picture and I'm scared for you

I have to take it apart every year to have it inspected.
This year I had to replace the 40 year old exhaust. It was time, as the metal was getting thin in the exhaust pipes.
So all of the cowling has to come off to access the bolts that hold it on.
I was putting it all back together.

This is a very inexpensive easy to assemble bee vac. The cost is about $40, check it out. It works very well.
[The girls are flying today. Its about 58 degrees here in east Tn. Took a few pictures of the girls, they are all still alive, thank God. LOL

Pretty nice. Did she lift the veil for the photo?
Nope. This was just the last of the honey harvest and she was hot and tired of it.
Nice to see beekeepers in earrings. Not the usual garb. Gives is a touch of class.
I caught 12 swarms last year... I love free bees! Some were a bit of a challenge to remove... :^)

First time posting on Beemaster, and also first year with my own hives. Figured that 1 hive would be fun, so why not have 4!
Been a good year so far. Hopefully it will continue!

Nice swarms Bingal.
Are your handholds cut upside down on some of your boxes or are the boxes upside down Skip?
At second glance, I guess the holds are just shaped upside down, still effective as handholds.
They do look upside down Buzz but they aren't.
