Title: Bee formation
Post by: Cindi on November 10, 2006, 11:23:10 AM
I'm not sure if the last post went through or not.  Last summer the bees were surrounding the flower painted on the top of their hive and I was curious if anyone had any good guesses on what they are doing?  Hopefully the attachment shows up.  Cindi

As you see, bees have surrounded the entrance, not merely yellow spot. It has nothing to do with flower paint. It seems that hive is quite warm because a couple of bees are ventilating in entrance. Some are just quards and some taking fresh air.

Are you sure it's not a Quilting bee?  The number of bee types are much more than honey, spelling and quilting.  After all the March Hare becomes an Easter Bunny just a month later.
