Title: Question from our YOUNGEST MEMBER
Post by: beemaster on January 15, 2007, 09:52:05 PM
Do any of you have children interested in beekeeping, too?

I wish some more kid members would join this forum :( I was just wondering if any of you adults have kids who want to join this forum?  :)

Actually, my son Jamie (10) is essentially a member. He usually posts through me though he has posted some of his own inquiries. He is quite involved with our hives and is trying to get some of his 4-H friends started up.

My 7 year old daughter is interested in getting closer to the bees this year (my second.)  We will be getting a veil, gloves and jacket for her soon.  I will ask her if she is interested in joining the forums.  :)

My son has been helping me out (at least that is what I tell myself :-P ) since he was 5.  He is now 7.  Haven't got him into the forums yet,  but maybe soon.

Hi Austin
My boys are interested in beekeeping, I just gave one hive to my 8 year old Richard because he loves it, and Nathan who is 6.5 yrs old is somewhat interested in getting his own too (probably just because I gave Richard one!!).

They don't have too many questions yet, and I don't give them too much access to the internet (and never will) but when they get more experienced with bees and computers(they don't type so well yet), I'll encourage them to explore Beemaster.com !!

My beau's son, Oscar, is 10. I'd absolutely love it if he had some "pen pals" around his age who are interested in beekeeping. His online time is supervised, so maybe one of our web sessions will bring us here...
