So what do you think about B Weaver and R Weaver of Texas ? Is the service good?

I've dealt with them since they were just Weaver and also since they split into B and R. The service is excellent. The people I've dealt with were very nice and helpful. The last bees I got were vicious. The bees for the 20 some years before that were very nice.
My first package of bees is coming April 7th from B(inford) Weaver!

Now viscious would be an absolute bummer for a newcomer into the beekeeping world. I hope for your sake that they are not. Good luck. I had a vicious swarm that I caught the summer before last. Even coming close to their home you feel the "vibration" from them, let alone when you opened up their home. Always wore full protection when I worked with them. When they got a new queen they became somewhat nicer. This colony is all gone now, so I don't even have to worry even a little about viscious bees. My others are sweet and nice. Great day. Cindi
The Weavers have Buckfast bees I bought some in the 1960's, they were good stock back them. They say they get new queen stocks from England every year or so, but since that is were there stock originated it is just more inbreeding.
Too much inbreeding will make the bees mean over the course of several generations. Occassional outbreeding is necessary in animal husbandry inorder to prevent genetic collapse or mutations. True, some mutations are desireable and that is the purpose of inbreeding--to set the desired mutations. Some Outbreeding is necessary to maintain what is called cross-breed vigor.
