Title: Indoor Observation Nuc
Post by: nepenthes on February 13, 2007, 02:25:34 PM
I was talking to a friend online (a fellow beekeeper) He said that some 20 gallon fish tanks hold 4-5 frames.

Think of it you could have you're very own indoor Nuc! with out all the hassle of construction. And some Turtle tanks have an opening on the side, which could be fashioned into a Entrance. Of course this would be connected out doors. But just an idea to entertain guests.

What do you guys think?

Sure, but if the beespace isn't accurate, won't the bees muddy up the view with burr and bridge comb? If your friend has pics, they'd be really cool to see. Would be a fun experiment.

I don't know i haven't seen pictures of it, but I have an idea of what it looks like. I got most of the frames done i got enough to check and see though.

Cool pic, but that box looks brand new.  I bet it got messy after a while, considering how much space there is.  Also, why is that syrup in the feeder so cloudy looking?

The syrup has Honey B Healthy in it. Anything gets dirty after a while. It has been in use for over a month now. It is still clear.
