Title: What's on my tray?
Post by: rayb on March 12, 2007, 01:49:14 PM
I found this debris on the tray. It is there pretty much every day. What are the girls up to? Thanks, Ray

Trust your bees, if they discarded it, they don't need it.  ;)

That looks like fecal matter or dark wax cappings from when brood chew their way out. Also if that is all you have on the bottom you are in good shape.

Here is a bottom that is not in good shape.

Could be wax.  Could be Varroa. It's too out of focus to tell.  :)
