I was out looking for early flying ants and wild swarms of bees in the woods when I had located a large community of solitary ground bees. I found them to be skittish and timid but still neat looking. They tend to nest in sandy soil.
They're about the same size as Honey Bees too.

A large nest of solitary ground bees. I think I have a new oxymoron. :lol:

We have ground nesting Alkali bees out here, but they aren't as big as Honey Bees. We also have leaf cutter bees around here.
