Title: Pollen Source?
Post by: RandGraham on March 24, 2007, 08:02:10 PM
My bees were bringing in lots of yellow pollen today. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the source? This is in McHenry County Illinois ~45 miles NW of Chicago.

There are definitely lots of maple trees around.

I think the bees dropped their loads because some of them were colliding with each other. They were mostly trying to use the upper entrance instead of the bottom. It was real crowded and they were being knocked down.
